"For decades the marching arts activity has grown, flourished, and evolved into something arguably more grandiose than any of us could have ever imagined. That being said, for decades there has been a growing “rift” between the academic training required to become a high school music educator and the world of pageantry in and of itself. University graduates have entered their chosen profession largely unprepared for what the marching band aspect of their field is presently requiring; that is unless they have received training from another source."
